Street Food Festival | The Dining Room

Dining room, the award winning restaurant at Park Hyatt offers a chance to all food lovers to experience different cuisines from the different regions of the world.

Last month they conducted a Mediterranean food festival and I simply loved it. Click Here to read about my experience. So now they are back with a Street food festival with an authentic street stall from every region.

The World Street Food festival will run till the 31^st May, 2017, 7 pm to 11 pm, and is priced at INR 1600 per person (Excl of taxes).

We started off with some thick and creamy Laksa soup with prawn and chicken. Prawn when overcooked turns rubbery, but the ones in the soup were just cooked right. The soup was rich and spicy with coconut milk and rice noodles. LOVED IT!!

From the Wanton and Dim Sum station we were served some Siomay (steamed dumpling) and Batagor (fried wontons). The Chicken Siomay was a little bland. For the vegetarians they have a tofu version as well which is quite nice. I preferred the Batagor which was crispy and dressed with peanut sauce. it didn’t look very appetizing but it tasted great.

From the Indian Station, we were served some Pav Bhajji, Vada Pav and Ros Goan Omelet. The Bhajji was well seasoned and very tasty and went well with the generously buttered Pav buns. The vada could have been a little crispy. The red chutney that was smeared on the inside was quite hot and added more flavor to the Vada Pav. My favourite was the Ros Goan omelet. Fluffy omelet with and spicy gravy which was not very thick and pav buns are a match made in heaven. Enjoyed every bite.

From the buffet, I enjoyed the Nargisi Kofta Biryani. The biryani was not very spicy but was packed with flavor. It went well with the Methi Malai Murgh.

For dessert we finished with some Ais Kachang, a Malaysian dessert made with shaved ice, peanuts, jelly, corns and ice cream to name a few ingredients. I didn’t enjoy it much as I have sensitive teeth but I totally loved the Banana crepes. Loaded with bananas, roasted nuts and chocolate sauce, it was just too good.

The Chocolate Mud Pie from the buffet was simply divine. Dark decadent chocolate with a crackling top. Best dessert that I have had in quite a long time. It was clearly everyone’s favorite at the table.
